We're Liz Corey and Katie King from the podcast True Crime New England. We cover cases out of six of the "safest" states in the country, from crimes that made national news to cases that you may have never heard of. We are so excited to be guest hosting an episode of Ten Minute Murder, and we will be telling a brief and bingeable version of the Mont Vernon Thrill Killing.
11-year-old Jaimie Cates and her mother, 42-year-old Kimberly Cates, were brutally attacked in their Mont Vernon, New Hampshire home in the early morning hours of October 4th, 2009. Jaimie was able to survive by pretending to be dead, but her mother was fatally stabbed over 32 times with knives and a machete. Authorities had no idea who could have done this until a teenage boy told his mother he needed to talk with the police. His friends, 17-year-old Steven Spader and 19-year-old Christopher Gribble, had come to him bragging about the attacks, and the horrifying story unfolded from there.
